The Centre for Clean Energy Technology is an 807 m2 addition to the Northern Lights College – Dawson Creek campus. The $ 7.8 million LEED Platinum Project will combine classroom and training facilities with demonstrations of energy saving renewable energy technologies. The building will produce all of its energy needs through wind, solar, biomass and geothermal systems.
The focal point of this facility is the new biomass boiler system designed and installed by Ventek. The 540 kW boiler is housed in a separate biomass boiler room that can be viewed through a glass wall from the entrance lobby. The biomass boiler system is designed to heat the new addition as well as the entire main campus building.
