Ventek Energy Systems Inc. to represent Ekogen Oy in Canada

News Release June 11, 2014, www.ventekenergy.com

Ventek Energy Systems Inc. and Ekogen Oy of Finland are pleased to announce the signing of a working agreement to represent the Ekogen small scale CHP system in North America.

The sales and marketing agreement will also include further R&D activities specific to entry into the North American market place.

The Ekogen CHP system incorporates proven biomass combustion technology; Ekogen developed high temperature air to air heat exchangers, high speed gas turbine operating on clean air side of the cycle, air to water heat exchangers for the heating circuit and automation all built into modular containerized units. Initial size for a single unit would be 100kWe and 400 kWh with higher outputs for multiple units available.

The Ekogen system will be an excellent product line for communities that are off-grid and rely on diesel power generation for their electricity needs. It can be operated by regular boiler operators and will not require any steam or power engineering operator requirements.

Peter Brand, a bioenergy industry consultant states: “The announcement of Ventek and Ariterm working together is excellent news and a strong indication of a growing bioenergy industry for Canada. Ventek, well known for its expertise in biomass heating systems and design, coupled with Ariterm, a well established manufacturer and world leader of biomass heating equipment will provide the Canadian market with a team of professionals that will be a huge benefit and aid in moving the bioenergy industry of Canada forward.”

Dr. Dominik Roser, Research Leader of FP Innovation’s Forest Feedstock research program: “Having worked in Finland for 11 years to support the use of forest biomass for energy I am pleased to see a Finnish player enter the market in Canada. As with other European heating plant equipment, Finnish technology is known for its proven technology and reliability which are key ingredients for long-term success. The fact, that more players are entering the market in BC is a direct result of the excellent work that local promoters of forest biomass for energy have done and it demonstrates that the market is maturing. We are looking forward to supporting institutional and district heating throughout Canada through our Forest Feed stocks program.”

Canadian manufactured control panels and CSA approvals will be standard on all models allowing seamless installation and tendering protocols. Product knowledge and training will be a key component in the launch of the Ariterm line of biomass boilers, burners and fuel handling systems.

“We are very excited to announce the signing of our exclusive agreement with Ariterm Oy, a company with over a century of hydronic biomass boiler manufacturing history. This rugged line of boilers that has been proven in the harsh Nordic climate comes from one of Europe’s leading manufacturer of mid-size biomass boiler equipment. We are confident that the Ariterm product line will be a perfect fit for the Canadian marketplace and will help us in our quest towards more reliable and user friendly biomass heating systems.” says Ventek President Markku Riionheimo.

Sealaska to Convert Plaza

News Release December 4, 2009, www.ventekenergy.com

Juneau, Alaska — In 2010, Sealaska Corporation’s corporate headquarters in Juneau will become the first commercial building in Alaska to convert to renewable bio-energy. Sealaska will convert its corporate headquarters to a wood pellet fired boiler system. The Sealaska Plaza is currently heated by over 35,000 gallons of heating oil per year. Sealaska’s goal is to establish a green energy model that can be applied throughout Southeast Alaska. The effort is one element of Sealaska’s green initiatives to build sustainable Southeast Alaska economies. We believe this project will show that conversion to biomass can save money, reduce hydrocarbon-based footprints and create anchor demand for resources that can be manufactured within the region.
